Who says pasta can’t be healthy? Not us. Use your favorite healthy marinara sauce and quinoa noodles and you have a healthy dinner in no time.
You can vary it up by adding other spices whenever you choose or just by changing the marinara sauce. When you get tired of turkey, try ground bison or lamb for another healthy option.
Ingredients:
2 Tbs olive oil, divided
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 Tbs fennel seeds
1 pound ground turkey breast
25-ounce jar marinara sauce of your favorite flavor, or make your own!
1 package quinoa pasta spirals
Directions:
In a large skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and saute until translucent, about 10 minutes.
Add fennel seeds and stir. Cook one more minute.
Add turkey and cook until almost cooked through.
Add sauce and simmer 15 minutes, covered.
While simmering, bring a large pot of water to boil and add pasta.
Cook 7-10 minutes or according to package directions.
Drain pasta and stir into sauce.
Serve immediately.
What brand Quinoa pasta do you recommend?
Hi Sapna, can’t say that we’ve really found a brand that we like above any other. In fact, the only one I can even think of is the one called Ancient Harvest. We normally just buy it out of the bulk bins.
