I love making up recipes and always have. I’ve been known to spike the month’s grocery bill because a few attempts at a dish weren’t even edible! Luckily I’ve gotten better over the years.
Brad and I recently picked up some superfoods, and I couldn’t wait to play around with them. The first thing I tried out was making them into smoothies. Last weekend I came up with this smoothie, and we loved it. I couldn’t wait to share it with you.
Ingredients:
1 frozen banana
1 large or 2 small carrots
1/2 cup soaked nuts (walnuts and pecans)
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbsp lucuma powder
1 Tbsp hemp seeds
1 Tbsp hemp protein
1 Tbsp cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice
2 Tbsp almond butter or cashew butter
3/4 cup almond milk (preferably unsweetened and unflavored)
1 1/2 cup carrot juice (get the real kind – 100% juice)
2 cups ice
Directions:
You probably already guessed it. Put all the ingredients in your blender, and blend. 🙂
